Good deal on tickets

I was looking for the cheapest way to get tickets for my family. Found a good early bird discount for Theme Park Entry online, which made a big difference compared to gate prices. It felt like a fair price for all the attractions included. Definitely felt like we got our money's worth.

Detailed breakdown of our visit

We booked a full day with Theme Park Entry and also added the Giraffe Feeding experience for my son's birthday. Booking online was straightforward; the website was easy to navigate. We received our e-tickets almost immediately. Parking was clearly signposted when we arrived, and though it costs extra, we expected that. The park itself was busy, but the rides queues moved at a decent pace. The Giraffe Feeding was the highlight; the staff member was knowledgeable and made it really special. Food options inside were typical theme park fare, a bit pricey but convenient. Overall, a solid day out, though I wish there were more water fountains around.

Awesome day, great value

Just got back from Chessington! We booked the Theme Park Entry and it was brilliant. The kids loved the rollercoasters and the zoo was a nice change of pace. Everything was clean and well-maintained. We'll definitely be back next year for another visit!

My kid's really into giraffes. Is the giraffe feeding experience worth the extra cash or is it kinda meh?

R Rachel 1 month ago
OMG yes, absolutely worth it! My daughter did it last year and it was the highlight of her trip. You get super close.

It's a bit pricey but it's a unique experience. If your kid loves giraffes, they'll be buzzing. Just make sure to book ahead, they sell out fast.

Can you bring your own food and drinks into the park, or do they make you buy everything inside?

F Faith Kaur 2 months ago
Yeah, you can totally bring your own picnic! Saves a fortune, the food inside is typical theme park prices.

We always bring a backpack with sandwiches and snacks. There are plenty of picnic spots. Just no glass bottles, I think.

Hey, thinking about getting tickets for Chessington next month. Are they usually cheaper if I buy them online or wait until I get there?

G Gwen V. 2 months ago
Definitely buy online! I went last summer and it was way cheaper, like 30-40% less than the gate price. Plus you gotta book a slot anyway now, I think.

Yeah, always pre-book. They often have better deals too, especially if you're flexible with your dates. Plus, sometimes it's busy and you might not even get in without booking.

Does anyone know if they still do the 2 for 1 Kellogg's vouchers? I used one a few years back and it saved a ton.

M Mark V. 2 months ago
Yeah, they usually do! You have to look on the Kellogg's website for the special landing page to book with it though, can't just rock up with the packet.

I'm pretty sure I saw some Kellogg's packs with the Chessington offer on them recently. Worth checking your local supermarket cereal aisle.

Thinking of a short break, but worried about the weather. Do they have a rainy day guarantee like some other parks?

C Carly Whitfield 1 month ago
Yeah, they do! If it rains for an hour straight or more, they'll let you come back for free. Check the exact terms on their site, but it's a good safety net.

I think you have to claim it on the day though, or within a certain time. Don't forget if it starts pouring!

Quick question about the hotels: what's the real difference between the Safari and Azteca hotels, besides the obvious decor?

R Ryan A. 2 months ago
The Safari one usually has rooms overlooking the animals, which is pretty cool. Azteca is more about the adventure theme. Both are good though, you get early access to the park with either.

Safari Hotel feels a bit more 'classic' Chessington, if that makes sense. Azteca is newer but honestly, they're both on site and convenient. Just pick the one with the better deal or theme you like more.

Is the Merlin Annual Pass worth it if I'm only planning on visiting Chessington maybe twice a year, plus one other park?

W Wendy 2 months ago
If you hit Chessington twice and say, Thorpe Park once, it probably pays for itself or comes close. Plus you get discounts on food and merch inside. Depends on the pass tier too.

I'd do the math. Sometimes the short break deals or 2 for 1 vouchers work out cheaper for just a few visits. But if you think you'll go more, or do other Merlin attractions, then yeah, it's a no-brainer.
